This introduction course offers a deep dive into the field of pranayama. It is made for yoga students, who want to learn more about pranayama and yoga teachers, who want to learn how to teach pranayama to their students in a safe and structured way. Today, psychologists, therapists and health experts use breathwork techniques for their patients. The pranayamas taught in this course will improve practical and theoretical understanding of breath and consciousness and are based on ancient yoga scriptures as much as modern scientific insights.
This training offers many hours of practice to gain confidence with practicing and teaching pranayama. After successful completion, the participants receive a pranayama teaching certificate (e.g. recognized as Jivamukti cont. education).
Prana and Pranayama
What is the force behind any movement, behind the blink of an eye, a flower’s bud growing, the fission of atoms or a meteorite’s orbital? Thousand of years ago, yogis discovered the inherent quality of movement and creation and called it Prana. Roughly translated with “energy” or “life force”, the true meaning of this Sanskrit term can only be understood through practice and contemplation. From a yogi’s perspective the whole cosmos is a pulsing and alive being overflowing with Prana. Prana is part of any creation and gives existence to any object, be it a planet, a blade of grass or a tree. Without Prana, no existence. To work with this underlying energy principle, that is the source of anything manifested, is a fundamental and efficient yogic practice and crucial for a finer and deeper understanding of our human potential and identity.
